DPM is Colorless viscous liquid with pleasant smell. Miscible with water and various organic solvents. It is obtained by hydration of 1,2-propylene oxide to form dipropylene glycol, which is then reacted with methanol. Mainly used as solvent for paints and dyes, and also as brake oil component.

Applications

1) Dipropylene Glycol Methyl Ether (DPM) is used solvent for paints and dyes, and also a brake oil component. It is used as a solvent for printing inks and enamels, and also as a solvent for cutting oils and working oils. Used as a coupling agent for water-based dilute coatings (usually mixed);

2) Dipropylene Glycol Methyl Ether is an active solvent for water-based coatings, Also used as industrial cleaners, grease and coating removers, metal cleaners, solvents and coupling agents for hard surface cleaners.
